Job description:
Overview
We are seeking a “people person” who is professional, client-facing, and comfortable going into people’s homes for the initial estimate visit (alone).
Along with the ability to drive to our Niagara-based clients, the position requires you to look in cupboards, closets, and basements to do a thorough packing/moving estimate, schedule the job, and perform related administrative duties. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and be a self-starter with the ability to effectively work with seniors and their families.
We offer:
- Competitive compensation starting at $22/hour for training (4-6 months)
- $1500 annual health spending account after 6 months employed (pro-rated first year)
- Company cell phone
- 35-40 hours weekly minimum, Monday through Friday beginning at 9am, with occasional Saturdays
- 4 to 6 months of training, which includes packing so that you get an idea of how the packers do their job for future estimating (must be physically able to participate in light lifting)
You are:
- A flexible and accountable self-starter with a positive attitude
- A lifelong learner open to developing new skills
- Committed to upholding a high standard of customer service and in your job duties
- Able to maintain professionalism and patience when serving our valued senior clients
- A problem solver who thinks outside the box, and remains calm under pressure
- Legally able to work in Canada, with a valid Canadian Class G driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation
- Comfortable driving Niagara’s highways
- Comfortable with simple math, smartphones, and computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Google Office Suite (Google Drive and Calendar)
- Ideally, someone who likes variety and are naturally open to change, as our dynamics can be ever-changing with emergency moves that pop up and require flexibility to make them happen
Responsibilities of the Position:
- Schedule and fulfill in-person estimates for moves
- Complete an estimate based on the person’s home, and needs for the job, while understanding all that will be involved in the move (training provided)
- Communicate effectively with team members and customers regarding schedules and requirements.
- Strong math and basic computer skills required
- Note: this is not a “boring desk job”
